The Society as required by its membership of the Council, reproduces below a precis of the notice issued by the General Council earlier this year (2000) regarding certain persons expelled from their association for misconduct.

Advisory Committee

The General Council of Cheirology was founded by I.Oxenford in 1899 and governs and regulates awards, title and accreditation of the art of Cheirology. It is formed from eminent practitioners, academics and others concerned with the standards and ethics of the art throughout Europe and abroad. Election to its board of Governors is by vote and recommendation of existing members. The Council awards scholarships to students and practitioners for research projects approved by them and issues qualifying certification and licences for both practice and teaching the general public.
